Baptisms are Awesome!

Moises Baptism
This week we had 2 baptisms! Moises and Amanda! They are so awesome!

But first we had a family home evening on Monday with Amandas family and they are super cute :) We talked about blessings and how we have to keep the commandments to receive blessings.

Amandas Baptism
We also found 2 super cute Haitian families this week! They are both married and have 1 kid each and both families came to church! It was super awesome :) They are really excited to learn more and both speak spanish pretty well.

We visited a cute member family this week. They have 2 little kids who are crazy haha. But we just got to know them a little better and spend some time with them. Its always good getting to know the members better so they can have more confidience in us.

This week we had interviews with president Harris. I always love interviews because President Harris just makes everything so much better. He has a way of saying things that makes everything seem alright.

This week on Saturday we had the Baptisms and it was just so special!

On Sunday we had a special conference just for Chile. It was transmitted from Salt Lake, It was really good. President Oaks and Elder Christofferson and Elder Foster and Sister Franco all spoke and it was really good. Hopefully it helps the members here in Chile wake up a bit and work a little more.

1 Miracle: this week a lady came up to us and said "I want you to come to my house and teach my family about the gospel" We said WHAT?! She had received missionaries before in Santiago but when she moved here she stopped going to church but she was really interested so of course we are going to go to her house this week!  Wow, there really are people ready to receive the gospel in every part of the world!

Have a great week!

Venid a Mi

Well this week went by so fast! I feel like yesterday was Monday and now its Monday again!
Hermana Dias, Margarita and Me.

This week we got everything almost ready for the baptism of Moises and Amanda for the 25th.(This Saturday) We are sooo excited! They are both so ready to be baptized!

We went to visit a cute little older lady named Margarita. She is a less active member. She lives in the area of the Elders but lives alone so they can't visit her but we can! She was super excited to see us and just wanted us to stay and visit with her all afternoon. She fed us cookies and juice and just kept feeding us until we had to say that we needed to leave haha. Then she kept asking when we could come visit her again. I think she just needed some love and someone to talk to. She came to church on Sunday! I really believe that if we take the time to visit or send a little message of love more people will start coming to church.

We had intercambios this week also. I went to San Fernando with Hermana Roberts. She is super awesome! It was also nice to be able to speak a little in English with her haha.
Everyone loves a Superhero!

2 cute little girls ran up to us one day and asked if we wanted to buy completos for their fundraiser for school so that they could go to the zoo! So of course we said yes and bought completos haha. Then one of them was telling us that we could go to her church if we wanted and that we are always invited. I told hermana Dias that she would be a great missionary one day haha.

We were contacting houses and we contacted a house and there was a cute little Haitian girl outside so we asked if her mom was home and she said yes. Her mom came out and we asked if we could talk to her about the gospel and she told us to come back the next day. So we went back the next day and her husband was home too and we taught them about the Book of Mormon and they were just so interested and want to change their lives and start reading the BOM. It was a really great lesson and it just made me remember how awesome it is to be on a mission and find people who really want to change.

On Sunday we had 4 people that we are teaching in the church. Moises, Amanda, and Alcindor we had invited but when we asked the name of the other guy, Arnold, if he had come with Alcindor he said "No, I was just looking for a church to go to and found Alcindor on the way and decided to come." What?! How crazy right?! He said he´d been here in San Vicente for about a week and was looking for a church. Its pretty amazing to me that when people want to find the truth God will help them.

This week I was reading in Ether about the Brother of Jared and I love how much faith he had. We need to always have so much faith that God will have to give us blessings because he always keeps
his promises.

Have a great week! Thanks for all your Love, prayers, and support.

Love,

San Vicente es Genial

First off, I am a mom! Some of you may saw "WHAT?!" if you haven't served a mission or dont
My cute companion Hermana Dias!

know mission slang but because I am training they say that our companions are our children haha. It's a little funny. But my companion Hermana Dias is awesome. She loves to work hard and is such a great missionary. We worked very diligently this week and were successful! We are in San Vicente with 2 other Elders, Elder Japa and Elder Shumway. It's crazy because Elder Shumway was my zone leader for 3 cambios in Santa Cruz and now he is finishing the training of Elder Japa here in San Vicente haha. They are cool.

The Hunzekers (now they are in their house in Idaho)
This week I got to know a lot of the people that are receiving the lessons. They are all super awesome! We are teaching a cute little girl named Amanda. Her parents are members but have been inactive for a while. Her mom is coming to church now but her dad still comes sometimes. She is super smart and told us the full story of Adam and Eve and even about Cain and Abel the last time we taught her! She's awesome. We are hoping she can be baptized this month.

We are teaching a cute little old man named Moises and he is literally awesome and reminds me of Mario so much! He quit smoking and is reading the BOM and comes to church every week and on Wednesday the Branch is going to the Temple and he is going to go so that he can walk around the temple grounds. He has a baptismal date for the 25th of August.
(All of the others we are teaching are cool too but these 2 are progressing a lot)

The monster of San Vicente Tagua Tagua

We had our big Zone meeting that we always have at the beginning of each cambio and our zone is huge because we are with San Fernando also. It was good and we set some great goals that will push us to become better.

We had a meeting in Rancagua for the companionships that are in training with President Harris and it was really good. I was kind of nervous to train but President Harris just talks and makes everything so much better and he always has great scriptures to share.

Since my companion is from Brazil and I can speak spanish now, I am learning Portugués! I can read it and understand basically everything and even when people talk but it's hard to speak it hah. I am getting better though. It is super similar to spanish just with a different accent.

There are a lot of really awesome members here. It is really weird to go to church and have like 50 people in the building because im so use to Chepica where there were like 10 sometimes haha. But the members are willing to go to lessons with us and are really nice. I bore my testimony on Sunday and shared Alma 17: 23 (not really sure how it says it in english but you guys can look it up) and the members thought it was funny so that's good. But it's for real. I love that it says "Deseo morar entre este pueblo" because it's true I want to be here and desire to be here and I will do all I can while I am here to strengthen the branch.

I hope you all have a great week and can finish your summer in a great way!

This week was CRAZY!

This is Hermana Monica

We had a family night or a going away party and it was really really sad! We all cried and had to say goodbye and it was sad but good too! They danced Cueca and we sang and had a great time!

Then we moved ALL DAY LONG!!! We started living in Santa Cruz and the moving was really slow and took all day haha. It was also kind of stressful to start living in Santa Cruz.

We had lunch or like a last supper with Marta and her family and it also was very sad. We also put a baptismal date with her again so hopefully she will be prepared for that day! I am sad I wont be there for it but it's what the Lord wants.

We really just visited a lot of members this week to say goodbye. We went with Hermana Ines to her friend Don Cesars house and he lives by huge lake and it was super pretty!

with Don Cesar

Hermana Ines

I will be going to San Vicente to finish training Hermana Dias from Brazil. I am excited and hopefully I can be a good trainer. I'm sad to leave Hermana Aquino but I know its what is best!

Have a great week and remember how much God loves you!
