Vineyard, Dirt Roads, and Bikes

This week was a really long week but, it was good. Also February is the shortest month but somehow feels like the longest!

On Tuesday morning we decided to go to another part of our sector that we had never been to before because it is really far away...so we went....on bikes. We road and road and road and finally ended up at a vineyard. We decided to ride a little ways into the vineyard to see if there was anything more beyond. Yeah, no there was only grapes and more grapes! But it was a good adventure! 

Then we went to the zoo again this week with a family in our ward. They are so amazing. They also took us to lunch. It was a really good time. It was fun to be with a family in a family setting all together talking and having a good time. Not going to lie it made me miss home a little bit but its okay!

We have a new investigator named Alejandro, he is 12 and is so smart! He has so many great desires to learn more about the gospel! 

We also had a Capilla Abierta on Saturday in Linderos and sadly it wasnt very good. They had 4 people come and all 4 of them are members of different areas in Chile...But this is the life of a missionary!

I am also learning a little bit of Creol because we have a lot of hatian investigators so who knows, maybe ill come home speaking creol and spanish!

WE MADE HISTORY

This week was awesome! We made history, the last time we were all togther with the entire mission was years ago. We had 2 conferences with ALL of our mission!! Almost 200 missionaries! The first was just with our mission and then the second was with Elder Christofferson. He is so amazing. He did not come prepared with a talk. He just talked by the spirit and had people ask questions. He also never answered a question without using a scripture! He really is amazing. It was a really awesome conference.

Then the rest of our week was pretty good. We just had lessons and stuff like normal but on Saturday Irma and Mario were baptized!!! Whoo Hooo! It was the most amazing thing. I could feel the love that Our Heavenly Father has for them so strongly. 

We had cambios and I am staying here in Paine with Hermana Soares for 6 more weeks.

Happy Valentines Day

This week was super rapido and loco! 

Painting in garbage bags!

We visited a Menos Activo and she was painting her house so of course like good missionaries we offered to help in our nice clothes, SO we wore plastic garbage bags haha. She was really grateful for our help but does not want to go to church or anything. 

Then we had the baptismal interviews of Irma and Mario and they both are super ready for their baptisms on Saturday! I cannot wait! Its going to be super genial!

Buin Zone Conference

Then we had zone conference! It was super awesome and we talked about repentance and how we can better teach repentance to our investigators.

Then we had a service project for a member, Hermana Nenita. We cut her weeds in her backyard and when we finished we played a game with a ball and wood as a bat haha. It was pretty fun.

We had a lesson with Mario and he had lots of papers and one of the papers fell out and I read it and almost cried of happiness. It says ( in spanish of course, but for those of you who do not speak  spanish I'll translate)

 "I want to be baptized for the true church and recieve the Holy Ghost" 

I asked him if I could keep it and he said yes. But that lesson with him was super awesome and really spiritual and he is so ready to be baptized! I am so happy for him.

Camilos Baptism

This week was rough to be honest, but life goes on and we have to live the bad weeks to love the good ones.

Tuesday: My scripture case is awesome BUT my name is spelt wrong so he has to take it back and fix it...but it's okay I'll get it on Tuesday! 

Naika braided my hair!

 Wednesday: I crashed on my bike....there is a small stream that flows in between 2 calles and there are bridges and at the end of the bridge the next thing I knew I was on the ground haha. I have a pretty nice scrap on my leg and I hurt my foot a little so we stayed in the house all day but now I'm better.

Thursday: I had to take a cold shower because we didn't have Gas..haha. And our investigator that is Haitiana braided my hair like a Haitian! LoL.

Hermana Irma

Friday: Hermana Irma is not going to be baptized on Saturday anymore because she still has some trials she has to work through and I am so sad. I almost cried. Her fecha is for after cambios and so I don't know if I'll be here in Paine for it and that makes me so sad. But at least she is trying her best. 

Saturday: our investigator Mario said that he wants whomever to baptize him, man or woman...well, now we need to teach Priesthood power better I guess hahahahah.

Sunday: Our investigator Rubent left to work in Santiago..super sad but hopefully he can find the missionaries there. He is great. 

This week I was studying in Matthew 4: 2-11 and it is super awesome! 

Jesus is being tempted by Satan. He wants Jesus to prove that he is the son of God and that he can turn stones into bread and other things but then in verse 11 it says "Then the devil leaveth him and behold, angels came and ministered unto him" 

Well at first we think its about Jesus and angels help him but NO there is a footnote and it says "Now Jesus knew that John was cast into prison and he sent his angels and behold they came and ministered unto him(John)"

This is just one example of how selfless Christ is. I want to be more like Christ and always think of others first.
